Where to find examples/docs

The global preferences are in this outline, which you can open in Fargo using the Open by URL command in the File menu. You can't edit it, but you can override any of the settings in this file in your cmsPrefs.opml file. Just copy and paste the bits you want to change from the global file into your cmsPrefs file, and edit.

Here's the OPML source for the Fargo Docs website (the site you're reading now).

I edit Scripting News in Fargo. Here's the OPML file.

And the OPML file for the home page, or noteblog of Scripting News.

Here's the OPML source of the Fargo blog.

Kim Parker's website

Finally, the Kim Parker website is, by design, a great starter site to be looking at for examples of how to do the basics. Here's the OPML source for the site. And below is the outline, viewable in an in-browser outline.
